Concierge.com's insider take:
Once upon a time, a ship loaded with bovine bones came to grief on the extensive coral reef just off the coast of Anegada island. The name Cow Wreck stuck to the beach, and the casual sand-floored dining spot here is a fine place to find yourself washed up. Cow Wreck's kitchen is the best of Anegada's collection of beachfront bar/restaurants, serving lobster, conch, and today's catch. The broad roof over the bar extends across the beach, providing shade for the picnic tables and simple plastic chairs. This toes-in-the-sand ambience is the island ideal, and it's common for boaters to taxi over for lunch (the anchorage is on the other side of the island) and stay all day, snorkeling the lush reef and drying off in time for dinner.
Open daily 10:30 am. Closing hours vary with the crowds.
