Concierge.com's insider take:
Dining amid the candlelight of Brandywine Bay feels at once intimate and open. The three-tiered restaurant was built in an old home on the site of an 18th-century British fort, but an open wall provides uninterrupted views down to the Sir Francis Drake Channel. Whether you come by boat (four mooring balls await yachties) or by car (a ten-minute drive from Road Town), you'll want to start the evening with drinks and cicchetti (Italian tapas) under the tent on the terrace. Chef-owner Davide Pugliese presents the menu on a dry erase board—a necessity, because he changes it daily depending on which fresh ingredients are available. The fare, like the chef, is nominally Tuscan—carpaccio, homemade tortelloni, and ravioli—but veers off on delicious detours such as Thai-pumpkin-and-coconut-milk soup or roast duck with mango chutney.
Open Mondays through Saturdays 6:30 to 9:30 pm, November through July.
