Aside from the typical duty-free shops, the BVI's have several distinctive stores. Sunny Caribbee spice shop and art gallery in Road Town on Tortola is the place for locally made pepper sauces, spices, West Indian love potions, and hangover cures. BVI-born artist Aragorn is the main creative force behind the culture-colony growing up on Beef Island's Trellis Bay (walking distance to the airport). His metal work, including the “fireball” sculptures used during the bay's full-moon parties, and tropical T-shirt designs (also available as prints), occupy space in his store alongside pottery and weavings by indigenous Carib artists.
