BA is known for the leather. Overall I was not that impressed by the quality & prices until I met a local who said to go to 666 Murillo. He even wouldn't tell me what it was but we went. So my friend & I took a local bus (it's pretty far out, off lots of local maps.) It turned out to be a factory store district for leather. Head to the 600th block of Murillo @ Acevedo. There is one leather store after another. I ended up getting a beautiful, reasonably priced jacket at a store called Kitaro. Additionally, there are other factory outlet stores scattered throughout Cordoba Ave from Av. Scalabrini Ortiz to Av. Juan Bautista Justo. Another general tip is in a lot of Argentinean businesses, they charge an extra 10% to use a credit card, so cash will almost always cost less. You can take local busses or the subway to both areas. report a problem
