It is known as the Paris of South America. Buenos Aires is one of the most beautiful cities I have ever visited. In these economic times, the dollar still goes a long way. Buenos Aires is a big value, and Argentinian cuisine is one of the best in the world. I recommend the Hotel Lipinski which is very economical and has an old world European charm. Also, take a "Radio Taxi" wherever you go. They c an be found at the airports and all over Buenos Aires. Note: Do not take taxis that don't have the logo "Radio Taxis". Do not let anyone carry your luggage and do not accept assistance at the airport. Buenos Aires is a very safe city, but one needs to use common sense to avoid unnecessary theft, report a problemPosted on: September 08, 2009 at 7:17PM
Buenos Aires: taxi It is safer to call taxi than flag one on the street, but I never have issue just hail a cab during the day. However, be sure to check the routes when you grab a cab in the night because if some of them noticed you're a tourist, they'd more likely take the "touristy" route where you'll have to pay more!Posted on: September 08, 2009 at 6:43PM
Tip: Don't be eager to tip taxi drivers in Germany. It isn't customary. (Of course, if you insist...)
