Shh, don't tell the kids, but the The Getty Center in Los Angeles is really a museum. With some of the most beautiful views in LA, its lawns are perfect for you to relax, while the kids find new friends as they roll down the grassy hills (over & over again). A treasure hunt sends them searching all over the museum for pieces of art, plants and fossils in the walls (no, there isn't an adult version!). And the seasonal outdoor evening concerts are a perfect evening -- grab some (actually quite delicious) food from the Getty's cafe to picnic on the lawn beforehand, and then stroll up to the stage for a cocktail for mom & dad and some alfresco dancing for everyone. Though parking is $10, the Getty is free! report a problem
