After living in Marin county for 8 years, Napa eventually fell off the radar for a fun day trip. Too expensive, too crowded. For a more relaxing experience, Sonoma has a lot to offer. Dry Creek Valley, Russian River, Sonoma Valley, Carneros - the terrain and wines of Sonoma are quite diverse. You can start or end a great weekend at Gloria Ferrer with a glass of bubbly. Some favorite Sonoma Valley wineries are Chateau St. Jean (great wines, friendly staff), St. Francis, Arrowood, Kenwood, Kunde and so many others. A great lunch spot is Cafe Citti. A little hole in the wall that has great food at a reasonable price. Just order at the counter and they will bring it to your table. The pizza and salad (served at lunch only) is a steal and more than enough for two to share. report a problem
