The quintessential 1950s hamburger stand, Taylor's is a great family pit stop in Napa Valley with picnic tables on a big, grassy lawn. The menu is full of kid-pleasing standbys (cheeseburgers, fries, milkshakes, and hot dogs), but there are also gourmet variations like raw ahi burgers with ginger-wasabi mayonnaise, and white pistachio milkshakes. Wash the meal down with Roto—a locally made, unsweetened red soda that's slightly bitter and vaguely citrusy. Taylor's is no secret; expect huge waits on summer weekends. If you don't have the patience, but still want to try the burgers, there's a second location at the Ferry Building in San Francisco.
