Myself and 10 friends went to The Old Elevator for Dinner on a Thursday evening and found the overall experience very disappointing, The restaurant was quite empty and we were told that many of the dishes had run out. 10 minutes after being seated we were then told that a few more menu items had sold out. This was very strange as there was no one else ordering. When we queried this we were told that it was the end of the season so they were running the menu down, not what you would expect from a fine dining establishment. The service was ok but we had to keep asking for more drinks. I had the Calamari special that was very bland and the Lamb shank which also lacked flavour, I asked for the mushroom risotto and recieved the herb one instead. Most of the other guests had the Steak or the Elk Wellington and found that the flavours were not quite right.
For 2 courses with 4 bottles of wine shared between 11 people the bill ended up being $80 each. I found this very steep considering the quality of food we recieved. I would not reccomend any one to dine at The Old Elevator, especially near the end of the ski season.
