Daytime partying segues into the night without much interruption in Cancún's year-round spring break scene. The 20-something (and under) set gravitates to rowdy bars, but there is a classier vibe among hip locals who transform their professional selves into sexy clubsters after dark. The most popular discos and clubs don't begin to heat up until after 10 pm, and most Mexicans wouldn't dream of showing up before midnight. DJs spin dance beats (and discos fire up the foam, dry ice, and laser lights) into the wee hours. Long lines form in front of clubs late at night, and cover charges range from $5 to $25—tipping is very much appreciated and ups the service considerably. Some places have VIP passes—concierges at the best hotels can get your name on a list for quick entry.
