When folks on Grand Cayman want to get away from the crowds, they often head to this 152-room resort at northeastern Collier's Bay—as far removed from the nightlife of Seven Mile Beach and the shopping of George Town as is possible on the island. All rooms at this decade-old property have either a balcony or patio looking out on the Caribbean. There's a Florida condo aesthetic, with simple blond-wood furniture, wicker seating, and cheery tropical-themed art and bedspreads. The one- and two-bedroom rooms come with full kitchens, while the studios have more limited kitchenettes. The deluxe studios feature Jacuzzi tubs and king-size four-poster beds. The Reef counts a full complement of resort amenities: two freshwater swimming pools, a pair of hot tubs, a lighted tennis court, a spa, a fitness center, yoga classes, coin-op laundry facilities, as well as bicycles for rent and a watersports outfitter/dive operator specializing in the East End's less-visited underwater sites. If you prefer to leave the cooking to someone else, the resort has an indoor dining room, Pelican's Reef, as well as a beach bar. And Vivine's Kitchen, one of Grand Cayman's best spots for local food, is just a five-minute drive to the south.—Christopher Cox
