Big Sur + Monterey

I several hours in Carmel during a college spring break trip. A friend and I rode down the California coastline along route 1 from San Fransisco to L.A. Carmel was a great stop on the journey. The town offers nice little shops and great local eats. We stopped at a sandwich shop that had a mouth-watering selection of subs and sandwiches. We didn't spend much time in Carmel, but I don't believe there was much more to see in the town itself. If you are riding down the coast and you happen to stop in Carmel, enjoy the friendly locals and the easy feel, but move on! The road awaits! The coastline is breathtaking, and in my opinion, the trip down route 1 was the best part of the trip.
