How-to: Fireworks, Air & Water Show, more

Some biggest events of the summer in Chicago take place on or over - Lake Michigan, near Navy Pier. The Fireworks on 4th of July, the Air & Water Show, The Venetian NIght boat parade, for example. And these lakefront events are also really, really - did I say "really" yet? - crowded. And then there are other events: twice-weekly fireworks at Navy Pier; concerts in Grant Park, Millennium Park, Northerly Island... think about all the events that take place downtown along the lakefront every year that you might like to attend if you could experience them at a less-crowded, quiet remove. How can you and your family participate in some of these events without getting crushed by the crowds? Take a tour boat ride. You can watch the fireworks, air & water show, venetian night boat parade from your seat on the boat out on the lake. For concerts, consider them as light background music, of a sort, to your boat trip. You can hear some of whatever is playing on the downtown lakefront parks from your boat seat too. Buy boat tickets early for these special events! And then be amazed at how UNcrowded a fun time you have. report a problem
