If you're lucky enough to make it to this beautiful section of Mediterranean coastline, make sure you stay in Riomaggiore. Though there are five picturesque towns that comprise Cinque Terre, Riomaggiore, the southernmost, is by far the best choice. Riomaggiore is the least touristy option in Cinque Terre, allowing for seclusion and privacy, while still being close enough to the larger towns. All the seafood is caught fresh, and the pasta is homemade. Try their take on a pesto sauce, while tasting the local wines made on the hills right above your restaurant, and then finish it off sipping a granita, an icy blended drink, while watching the sunset over the calm sea. report a problemPosted on: August 14, 2009 at 12:39PM
The beauty o the Cinque Terra is the unsoiled beauty boasting no hotels. Many residents of these 5 cities offer rooms for rent so it gives you the ability to live with an Italian family.Posted on: May 28, 2009 at 2:22PM
Excellent advise. I want to visit Cinque Terre when I make it to Italy, can't wait to stay in Riomaggiore. Do you have any hotel recommendations there? Thank you!
