You must get away from the overcrowded, bustling and chaotic city of Cairo and travel into the country to the Valley of the Kings in Luxor or another out of the way destination (take a boat ride down the Nile for a nice, relaxing mode of transport) in order to really get a feel for the country, but before you leave you must try two of the locally made food and beverage specialties - the first is Um Ali, a heavenly dessert, the taste of which can only be described as decadent, and the second is the locally brewed beer - both of these treats you will not soon forget! report a problem
