Spend the extra money on the side trip to Abu Simbel. I'm still kicking myself for not. Bring lots of Immodium (and don't stick your hand in the Nile). Pack WetWipes and an extra roll of toilet paper. Don't (in an act of desparation) eat American-brand fast food in Cairo because you can't seem to find an independant place. Have fun and take LOTS of photos! report a problem
