Until someone opens, say, the Maria Callas Ayurvedic Center, this will likely remain the world's only hotel named after a long-dead opera singer. This 91-room property on the coast of Kuressaare—a seaport on Estonia's largest island, Saaremaa—has panoramic views of the Baltic and the thirteenth-century Bishop's Castle. Rooms are furnished with white linens, pale-wood furniture, and colorfully striped carpets inspired by traditional Estonian skirts.
