Concierge.com's insider take:
This private-island resort received international attention when it turned up in the Tom Cruise-Nicole Kidman divorce; rather than forgo an upcoming reservation, they split it in the settlement: one week for her, one for him. Yes, the place is that special. With its secluded location, overwhelming natural beauty, and coddling staff, it has everything you want from a trip to the Fijian islands. The eight regular bures, the local version of cottages, are 1,500 square feet and decorated with a relaxed blend of natural woods, bamboo wall coverings, and elements of high design such as Tibetan rugs. The Governor's bure is even better: 1,850 square feet with its own private garden, Asian antiques, and a Jacuzzi. The stars' favorite is Vale O, the three-bedroom, 12,000-square-foot owners' cottage with a cliffside swimming pool and wraparound views. Meals (included in the price of a stay) are served wherever and whenever guests so desire, and dinner can be taken in a grand open-sided dining room under a 60-foot cathedral ceiling. The kitchen keeps an emphasis on local ingredientswith international panache. Nobu Matsuhisa, a frequent guest, recently tweaked the menu.
