Concierge.com's insider take:
This resort has a split personality: half exclusive enclave and half all-inclusive Club Med–like playground for honeymooners. It sits on the western side of Viti Levu, the biggest island in the Fijian group of 300; there are four villages on the other side. The 17 standard bures all have a unique blend of brightly colored stucco walls and thatched roofs, with a decor that is equal parts Santa Fe and Fiji. They're cool and breezy style-wise (with terra-cotta floors and ceiling fans), but perhaps not so much in terms of climate: This is the tropics, and there's no air-conditioning. Those who can't stand the heat can book one of the two deluxe villas. The Grand Bure and the Point both have A/C, plus plunge pools, dedicated staffs, and great, highly stylized interiors (African sculpture juxtaposed with modern furniture in russet tones). They're set at a remove from the twentysomething giddiness of the rest of the resort, where the pizza is greasy and the seafood salad like rubber. If that's not your cup of papaya juice, there's always the escape of a thatched hut on the exceptionally lovely beach.
