Fiji hotels
Hotels in Fiji have the benefit of more than 300 islands to spread out on. And many luxury properties have whole isles to themselves. But this means that getting to your hotel will likely involve more than just a taxi ride from the airport. Most international flights arrive in Nadi on Viti Levu, and it's likely you'll spend at least one night nearby. Avoid staying on Denarau Island, a giant suburb of name-brand hotels and mini malls that you'll have to pass through to catch boats heading out to the Mamanuca and Yasawa Islands, and resorts including Liku Liku and Turtle Island.
Many of the best resorts in Fiji coast (like Dolphin Island Resort and Turtle Island Resort) are located near the main island Viti Levu via boat rides or seaplane flights. Others (including The Uprising) are located in Pacific Harbour, a two-hour drive from the airport, which also serves as a launching point for boats to Royal Davui on Beqa Island—a surfer's paradise—and Vatulele. If you choose to stay well-off the beaten track at Wakaya Island, you'll need to plan on an additional flight from Nadi, but it's well worth the trouble to get to some of the country's best dive sites and hotels.
