Florence

This hotel was so beautiful and elegant. Our room was right on the Arno River with views of the Ponte Vechio Bridge. It was a gorgeous walk on the Arno to the downtown area. Our first night, we found a fabulous leather dealer on the Arno and got great deals on lovely jackets. The locals are so friendly with great recommendations on where to eat. At night we went to the Uffuzi Museum with live musicians from America singing songs by Simon and Garfunkel while we were surrounded by the most fabulous statues and a replica of David. It was magical. The rooms were so comfortable---I'm a lifelong pillow carrier and I wasn't able to bring my pillow for the first time and I thought I'd have a miserable night's sleep, but the heavenly bed at Westin was glorious. It was all spectacular--I can't wait to go back!!! You'll love it.
