Horrible, Horrible, Horrible.

Words can not express how disappointed I am in the Four Seasons for flagging the Four Seasons Florence as one of their own. In doing so they have violated any trust I may have built up for the Four Seasons brand over the past decades of loyal patronage. They have failed at ever level but most egregiously with their poor customer service. The hotel booked us rooms with a view and a balcony but they only have 4 rooms with a balcony and none of them have views, unless you consider the adjacent office building a view. We asked to have a room large enough to accommodate three out of town guests and did not receive one but did take relentless phone calls from the catering staff on planning our "event". We were lied to about how busy the hotel was. The hotel rooms, although beautifully appointed with frescoes were so small we couldn't enjoy them for longer than a short night's sleep. Please believe all of the reports about the hard beds. They are not comfortably stiff or in any way supportive. My husband slept on the floor because he felt it was so unforgiving the second night. The hotel does not have a hair salon as of yet. Although they boast that one is coming shortly. Unfortunately, they did not wait until all the services were up and running before they started charging full price. The hotel is poorly located in an industrial/business area that is empty and rather unsafe at night. A 20 minute stroll in dinner clothes through dark and narrow streets is not what I am looking for in a well-situated hotel. The hotel staff recommended taking our car if we didn't want to walk or waiting for a cab. However, we were not excited about a dangerous and difficult drive in a medieval town after dinner nor were we interested in hunting down a car or catching the hotel shuttle at a pre-arranged time. Overall, it was unpleasant and I will not return. Next time I am in town I will stay in town at a nice hotel.
