Buying tickets for the museums and trains here in the US may not have saved us money (though generally not more expensive), but sure saved us time - lots of it. Lines in Europe can be very long for tickets; getting your ticket before you leave alows you to walk to the front. As an example, I bought tickets to see the David in Florence; others in our group did not. We walked right in, they waited 3 hours! report a problem
