Concierge.com's insider take:
If the sky's not the limit and you prefer to patronize a local business, this moderately priced option—for Bora Bora, that is—fits the bill. Built in 1998 on the site of a former backpackers' camp, the 74-unit resort is Bora Boran owner Pauline Youssef's glitziest property (her mini empire also includes the budget option Village Pauline). The decor here is colorful and a bit kitschy, but most rooms also have TVs, mini fridges, and AC—although if the latter is important to you, be sure to request it. The beach is pristine, with a little wooden dock for an after-dinner stroll, the beach restaurant/bar is bustling with friendly, chatty people, and you're close enough to the Hotel Bora Bora to hop over for a meal.
