Concierge.com's insider take:
These three self-contained, thatch-roofed cottages set under a canopy of ironwood trees and palms on a private motu are a simple but comfortable place to go native. Each is decorated with locally made tapa cloth in bold designs, framed artwork and photographs, and carved masks from Papua New Guinea. Each also has a kitchen equipped with French silverware, a small library of books in English, French, and Japanese, and a veranda for enjoying the spectacular Pacific sunsets. If you really like getting back to nature, ask for one of the cottages with an outdoor shower set among coral bricks and cascading plants.
