My husband and I honeymooned at the Nui in early Oct of '08 for 5 nights. While the resort grounds and bungalows are beautiful, we found the service lacking. The main restaurant was under construction and they made no apologies for it. Guests had to eat at the more casual restaurant for every meal if they didnt want to take the ferry to the main island. We found the staff with the exception of a few to be rude and unaccommodating. We made friends with several couples from all around the world who were all very disappointed at the service. My husband and I took to ordering our meals to go at the bar and taking them back to the room because we got so angry at the long waits and lack of service at the restaurant. I definitely recommend stocking up on snacks and beverages at the local store in town. A sub par margarita or blended drink will put you back ~$28 USD (based on the conversion when we were there). Also, the Nui has a beautiful yacht for shuttling couples to and from the airport but both times we were put in a small, less than nice ferry boat. OVerall, I would not recommend this hotel when their are so many beautiful resorts worth staying at in Bora Bora. My sister-in-law just honeymooned at the Nui and the Thalasos last month and said the Intercontinental Thalasos was leaps and bounds better than the Nui.
