WHEN TO GO
The best time to visit Goa is during the cooler months, from November to March. At the end of the high season, April and May can be very humid.
HOW TO GET THERE
Goa's airport is at Dabolim, 18 miles from the capital, Panaji. If you have a reservation, your hotel will probably send a courtesy bus. If not, a taxi ride to Panaji should cost around $11(agree on the price with the driver before you set out). If you shrink from haggling, you can arrange a prepaid taxi at the government tourist desk in the baggage-claim hall

OTHER INFO
Renting a motorcycle gives you independence for a cost of around $6.75 a day, and rental companies are everywhere. You can also take a taxi (a six-hour outing will cost $13 to $17) or a cheaper auto-rickshaw. Always agree on the price up front. Goa also has a bus network, but if you don't catch an express bus, you may find the endless series of stops tiresome.
