The Hamptons shopping
Shopping in the Hamptons is as much a part of the East End experience as lounging on the beach and rubbing elbows with celebs. There are shops for every sensibility, even if there's not much in the way of low-budget options, apart from the odd charity thrift store. You'll find outposts of Madison Avenue's finest (Gucci, Coach, Ralph Lauren) and beachside offshoots of hip boutiques (Catherine Malandrino, Alice + Olivia, Calypso). We also recommend exploring the local antiques emporiums, fashion boutiques that mix beachy styles with outfits that would do you proud on Paris's Avenue Montaigne, and galleries that showcase the best of local and international artists. The main shopping centers are the Main Streets of Southampton, Sag Harbor, and East Hampton, but Shelter Island, Amagansett, Wainscott, and Montauk all have worthwhile finds as well.
