As an ardent foodie, I'm always disappointed to see the Editor's restaurant selections for Saigon (Ho Chi Minh City). The restaurant picks are generally 3-4 years outdated. As an expat who lived in Saigon for over two years, here are my favorite spots for a great meal: 1. Either restaurant in in the Park Hyatt Saigon (which also happens to be where you should stay): Square One or Opera 2. An Vien - Set in a beautiful French villa, you will be charmed by both the ambiance and the delectable food 3. Xu - Asian fusion restaurant opened by an Vietnamese-Aussie restauranteur. 4. Temple Club of Branagelina fame during their trip to pick up Baby Pax Here's a great resources for more casual places: http://thejadedpalate.com/foodie-guide-to-vietnam-saigon/ -wdot report a problemPosted on: August 03, 2009 at 12:19AM
I recently tried a restaurant called the Grill in District 7. Like the name says, it serves barbeque (grill) food as well as local dishes with western infusion. Overall the food very good and decent prices. for those in District 7 you must drop by this restaurant. I would highly recommend the grilled beef and lamb. It is located on the main street in District 7, 1 Nguyen Van Linh street.
