Ho Chi Minh City nightlife
Nightlife in Saigon may never achieve the heightsor depthsof its wartime incarnation, but revelers here will find a seemingly endless array of diversions, from modest sidewalk beer bars to lavishly decorated clubs that can compete with any venue that Singapore, Bangkok, or even New York City has to offer. People dress up to go out, so be sure to step up your game for the occasion. The dance-oriented clubs reach critical mass sometime before 11 pm. By law, they're also supposed to shut down by midnight, but this is naughty, pliable Ho Chi Minh City: Some venues remain open until 4 am on weekends. And no matter how late, the local nightflies are always hanging around Tan Hai Van and other 24/7 muncheries on Nguyen Trai Street.
