Oahu see + do

Oahu's attractions run from urban delights like the Honolulu Academy of Art and Iolani Palace, the former royal residence, to natural wonders like the Hanauma Bay reefs, sandy beaches, and world-class surfing waves on the North Shore. Oahu is quite compact—most noticeably at rush hour on the freeway—which means that in one day, you could easily hit the Royal Hawaiian Shopping Center in Waikiki, the Pearl Harbor memorial, and the North Shore for a dip and sunset dinner at Turtle Bay Resort's Ola. It also means that escaping Honolulu's urban thrum is as simple as getting on Highway 72 and driving the long way around the island to deserted beaches in Laie and Kahuku.
