If you have ever spent an hour holding in the air or on the ground at JFK or anywhere else and worried whether you missed your connection or would be rebooked, I have found that calling the reservations 1-800 number for your airline is the best bet as they have the overview of the entire system. If you are stranded in your hub city for the night, at least you will get your flight rebooked first and then can visit customer service when you finally reach the terminal and ask for hotel and meal vouchers. They are usually so relieved your flight is taken care of already they are happy to oblige. I have found this to be true in several large cities and the customer service counters are sometimes less busy than the ticket counters because everyone gravitates to the ticket counters and/or gate agents. report a problemPosted on: November 02, 2008 at 1:24AM
This is a really good tip, I'll keep it in mind next time I fly.
