Have a kid that LOVES ancient egypt? There's a treasure in Chicago that is often overlooked! It is the Oriental Institute at the University of Chicago. They are an incredible resource for art, archaeology, and history of the ancient Near East. There are mummies, huge wall carvings, displays of artifacts (including some from King Tut's Tomb), and more. Occasional classes and special exhibits are another good resource. Our 7yo daughter is an Ancient Egyptophile. She can spend hours and hours here in this gem of a museum! (Me, too - it isn't only for kids!) report a problem
