Solis Lough Eske is not a "magnificent building, which dates from the fifteenth century" - it is just the facade of an old castle with a totally new interior and added exterior. A lot of money has been spent, and it is lavish, but it is not old. The most disappointing feature to me is that "Solis Lough Eske" is named after the lake (Lough Eske) beside it, but you cannot see the lake from any of the windows of the hotel. It may sit near the lake, but it does not overlook it in any way. You have to walk through the woods to approach the lake. We were disappointed in our stay, but (being used to other castle hotels in Ireland) perhaps we hoped for too much.
