Masada at Dawn

There are a few travel companies in Jerusalem that offer an early morning walking tour to Masada ,which is a great idea as the mid morning heat from April through October can make walking very uncomfortable .
It is an indescribable feeling to wait in silence as the sun rises over the Moab Hills of Jordan ,in the East.
The original excavation was done here in 1964-65 ,but only last year has a world class multimedia museum opened with amazing artifacts from the site and is well worth a visit.
Explore the Dead Sea ,take a float and mud session and enjoy a beer at the Ein Gedi Kibbutz Guesthouse and Botanic Garden Bar .
