Concierge.com's insider take:
There's no better place to channel the spirit of 007 than in this stunning, three-bedroom clifftop house, where Ian Fleming wrote 17 of his James Bond novels. The property, in a quiet village 20 minutes from Ocho Rios, also includes three smaller satellite villas. Now owned by Island Records founder Chris Blackwell, the property has a luxurious yet chilled-out vibe. Rustic Balinese furniture, louvered doors, ceiling fans (there's optional AC), and decks with tropical plantings are in all the villas. Private tours—some by car, others by Jet Ski or glass-bottomed boat—are offered to neighboring cays and to Firefly, Noel Coward's old place. There's also a small, sheltered guests-only beach, a tennis court, and windsurfing, kayaking, and snorkeling. Peer into the shrubbery and you'll find plaques commemorating famous visitors who have planted trees—a half-century-long tradition. Construction has begun on a new phase of the property, which will include 11 new cottages on the beach, plus a beachside restaurant.
