Back in 1995, my girlfriend and I hopped on a motor scooter and went against advice and common sense. We wandered through the worst parts of Montego Bay until a local began following us. He came abreast of us and asked if we wanted a personalized tour of the area. Six hours later, we had seen the most amazing sights not all tourists get to see. He took us to a waterfall few knew about, his parents home in the hills where we received wonderful hospitality and several other off-road and not well known parts of the area. At the conclusion of the tour, we made a friend and offered him US$100 as a tip. He gracefully took the money and said, "is that it?" We gave him US$25 more and laughed it off knowing that we still got a bargain tour that nobody else could ever imagine. **Do not attempt without proper security or military self-defense training. Picking up strangers is not recommended. report a problem
