Rental cars are expensive in Hawaii. Since we go to Kauai three times a year we even considered buying a clunker and keeping it there, but then we learned a better way: Hotwire is a travek website with great rental car deals; they work with the major car rental firms, but the rentals they offer are deeply discounted. A three-week full-sized car rental (including all taxes and fees) is about $575...vs. over $1,500 if you rent directly from the rental car company, It's a terrific saving! report a problem
