Lamu is an amazing island paradise where I felt like I had always been there only hours after arriving. Each person I met welcomed me as an old friend returning after a short time away. Days on Lamu are full of wandering the meandering footpaths past mosques with traditional 16th century architecture and taking dhow rides to visit Swahili ruins on the nearby island of Manda. Evenings were for sunsets and cocktails while listening to the tide. My home while on the island was in Shella village. On this island without cars, it is a short donkey ride away from Lamu Town. report a problem
