3 Nagas, Luang Prabang
Posted on: December 7, 2009 at 7:50AM
I stayed at the Three Nagas for 10 days this autumn and while Lunag Prabang itself is overrated and overrun by tourists everywhere the eye looks - and practically everything exists for tourists in the town center, the Three Nagas is at the end of town and clean, comfortable, tasteful and well run by its genial Indonesian GM. I had a suite and it was cool, fresh in ambiance and just the right blend of comfort and charm. The sad thing is there is not a great deal to do around the town and going on the nearby excursions (cave, wateraflls, etc.), you see all your fellow tourists (from backpackers to cheapo Asian tour groups, hippes, Eurotrash, Lonely Planeteers, etc., etc.) from town as well. Getting off the beaten path seems dangerous, so options are limited. Three Nagas has a good restaurant and very congenial staff who seem to enjoy their jobs. It's a very lovely little hideaway.
