With my wife I tried Hix in Soho last June. We were very excited about dining here as we're both fans of Hix cooking style. The restaurant itself is very nice, well dedcorated, great downstairs bar area with room for bar snacks. Just lovely. BUT, the food, pretty well pub food at high end restaurant prices. I had the hanger steak with bone marrow, which was, well just a steak. I am familiar with the cut and I honestly do better at home. The bone marrow was overwhelmed with breadcrumbs and I put it aside. My wife ordered a dish from the set menu, but that was quickly whisked away, "Sorry not on today" and she ordered something else we can't remember, which tells me a lot. A shame really, but I think I'll be trying a pub for pub food at pub prices next visit.
