Disney Symphony Hall, a la Frank Gehry, is amazing. Take the self-guided tour, which takes you around the exterior, decks and lobby areas. It's worth attending a performance to see the interior hall. Visit at different tmes of the day/ night. From the top of City Hall, one gets an incredible downward view of Disney Hall. Plan to stay a while at the Getty Museum (Richard Meier), seeing it change with the sunset and exterior lighting. The architecture may well exceed the art in impact. The Grove is one of the nicest new upscale shopping areas around. Next to the interesting Old Farmers Market, there's shopping, fountains, a trolley, movie theater etc. By all means, visit the Gamble House (Greene & Greene) in Pasadena. Nearby is one of the brother's own house. Renovated Pasadena City Hall is worth a visit too, especially at night when it's lit beautifully. IAlong Venice Beach, Frank Gehry's house, with the crows nest lookout, is cute and original.
