We had lunch at Galatoires when we were in NOLA, and it was by far my favorite meal of our food filled 5 day trip. It didn't start out so well, because my BF was turned away at the door for being in shorts (very nicely pressed, Bermuda khaki shorts, but shorts nonetheless). The host was a little bit snooty about it, but not too awful. So I sat down and had a glass of champagne as he taxied quickly back to the hotel to change. I was very happy with my waiter, he was very friendly and patient as I waited. And he made wonderful suggestions with the most fabulous NOLA accent. He was a treat. And oh my, the food... the oysters Rockefeller were to die for. My BF adored his soft shell crab etc etc. I will definitely go back - no doubt about it. It's a little stuffy and a few of the staff were definitely less nice than others, but we had a fabulous meal and experience.
