Nicknamed the Jolie Ville, this resort of modern bungalows has the prettiest river setting of any Luxor hotel. It sits in 24 acres of gardens and palm groves on its own island in the Nile, about three miles south of town. The terrace swimming pool is surrounded by charming thatch-roofed tables for relaxing, while the larger infinity pool, with its own waterslide, is where families gather to splash and play. The grounds are large enough to absorb all 322 rooms and suites, so the place feels remarkably tranquil. There are restaurants, tennis courts, bike rentals, and fishing facilities, even a small zoo—it's just about the only place north of Lake Nasser where you'll actually see a crocodile on the Nile these days.
