Maine is 320 miles long and 210 miles wide, leaving some 33,200 square miles of vacationland from which to choose. The coast's rugged, rocky coves harbor many a B&B. The further you venture along Route 1, the more you disappear into Maine's isolated, sea-sprayed bliss (with the exception of busy Bar Harbor, the gateway to Acadia National Park).
