If you are in the Bangor/Brewer area, the best place to try is The Eagle's Nest located on route 9 just north of Brewer (1016 North Main Street). The building is not much to look at - a simple ranch style home converted to a simple roadside restaurant. Watch out for the sloping floor as this place is located on the banks above the Penobscot River and the building leans a bit - adds a bit of charm to it! The amount of food you get is unbelieveable and each plate is enough to serve two moderately hungry bodies. The lobster rolls should be ordered with an extra roll as the meat is plenty. The deep fried haddock is very moist and tender. The Fisherman's Seafood Platter is probably enough for a family of four ( with two younger children). And be sure to ask for the window table as the view of the Penobscot River is fantastic - particularly in the fall with the leaves turning color! Try it.....you'll like it! report a problem
