Five Gables Inn, Boothbay
Posted on: October 6, 2009 at 4:39PM
We have been staying at the Five Gables Inn for years and are never disappointed. The breakfasts are delicious and not your standard B&B fare; Chef/owner Mike Kennedy is a Culinary Institute of America graduate and it shows in his creative cuisine. The rooms are comfortable and have nice views of Linekin Bay and the porch beckons you to relax with a good book or take breakfast al fresco. The fireplace in the common room is lit each evening and the cozy space is a great place to enjoy the afternoon cookies and tea or the evening port and chocolates. The location can't be beat as East Boothbay is away from the hordes of tourists that crowd Boothbay Harbor, and yet is only a few minutes away should you crave something you can't find at the general store. Add to this the fact that Mike and De are consummate hosts, always ready with suggestions for what to do in the area and where to eat, and you have an unbeatable recipe for a relaxing stay on the Maine Mid-Coast.
