Since opening in 2009, Hidden Pond has continued to refine and add features that have only made the property better, while keeping the same quaint woods environment that I originally fell in love with. The property has grown to 16 two bedroom cottages (each with two bathrooms, full kitchen, fireplace, outdoor shower and screened in porch,) and approximately 20 one room bungalows with a wet bar, fireplace, outdoor shower and enclosed porch. The owners have done a great job at maintaining a family friendly feel that welcomes children in the cottage area, with adult only environment in the bungalow section. Each has a beautiful pool with small bar and a fire pit that is lit each night for s'mores. It is easy to keep to yourself, or meet others and get to know them throughout your stay. It is a very welcoming environment, and people give you space. Since the Conde Nast review was written, the property now has a wonderful farm to table restaurant, Earth, which was built through a collaboration with Ken Oringer. The executive chef, Justin Walker, recently joined from a long tenure at Arrows. The programming and activities also hits the mark for all ages. Options include SUP (stand up paddleboard,) kayak adventures at Goose Rocks Beach (short 5 minute ride from Hidden Pond and transportation is provided,) mixology classes, yoga, cooking classes, guided hikes, and much more. They also provide fun activities for children, including arts/crafts, cooking class, scavenger hunt and morning swims (i.e. parents can take a break in the morning and enjoy some time at the adult pool!) The property is part of the larger Kennebunkport Resort Collection, which includes other restaurants of different varieties throughout town. I have visited it mainly in August, when the weather is amazing, but have also stayed there in October (including my own wedding there,) and it is equally perfect - just more of a feel of autumn. A visit to Hidden Pond is a good investment which will ensure a very relaxing and fun time.
