I was in KL last week 11th -14th June and on Saturday night was trying to look for a place to eat. The famous beef noodles stall at Jalan Tun Tan Cheng Lock was not open so my wife and I went to Central market to walk around first before deciding where to eat. Hidden in a rather obscure corner on the 2nd floor was this restaurant, at the end of the food court. I would have missed it if I had not walked the other way round the shops since I had not intended to walk into the food court. The three of us, including my mum-in-law, decided to settle our dinner there and we walked in and were led into this room done up in the old traditional Nyonya ways. The next one hour was spent enjoying really good food. We ordered the Nyonya Belachan fried rice, Assam fish fillet, sambal petai sotong, pucuk paku(a kind of forest fern) and drinks. All in all we paid RM105, about S$15 each. A very reasonable sum to pay considering the quality and portions of the food served. The pucuk pacu was my favourite, and so was the Assam fish. The food may be a little bit spicy, but its spiciness was simply mouthwatering! I am really looking forward to visiting KL again to enjoy the other dishes on the menu in Precious Old China.
