Baltimore hotels are dominated by the big brands (Marriott, InterContinental, Hyatt), much of them clustered around the Inner Harbor. Boutique hotels like the Inn at Henderson's Wharf are found in Baltimore's historic Fells Point neighborhood east. Annapolis, the state capital, has been putting up travelers for centuries in its collection of historic inns like the Governor Calvert House, while scattered Eastern Shore towns are B&B country. The historic Inn at Perry Cabin, an estate-like grande dame fronting the yacht-dotted Miles River, is the standard-bearer.

Hotels in Baltimore and Annapolis often offer substantially lower rates in the off-season, typically mid-November through February; some Eastern Shore B&Bs close down entirely during the late fall and winter.
